Unprincipled

4 season

In season four, Patriarch’s Ponds again proves that no one makes a bigger mess of a perfect life than its own residents.

Young scammers from St. Petersburg, Pasha and Yulia, parade their latest cons across Moscow’s fanciest neighborhood, reliably managing to land in every kind of trouble along the way. General Khadyakov and his loyal entourage are busy plotting the "perfect" anniversary celebration — the most ambitious operation of their careers — while their wives quietly prepare a counter‑operation of their own, as usual threatening to blow up the generals' grand plans.

Vera and melancholic architect Roma, two years into their marriage, are once again on the verge of separation. Vera is swallowed by her career, constantly disappearing at work, and Roma ends up shouldering all the childcare until, fed up with the imbalance, he leaves and insists on shared custody. Vera tries to win him back — until a rich, charming foreigner, Stefan, appears and turns her emotional world upside down.

A year after their countryside adventure, henpecked Kostya has failed to keep his promise and never married his stunning fiancée Alenka. The girl from the village adapts to city life with surprising speed, falls in love with the comforts of Patriarch’s Ponds, and has no intention of going back, hiding her "life in sin" from her strict parents. A sudden visit from her father, Fyodor Ivanovich, the owner of a rustic tourist complex, exposes the truth. Outraged, he and his wife Daria decide to stay in the hated capital to find Alenka a "proper" match on Patriki — only to gradually fall under the neighborhood’s glamorous spell themselves.
